STANDARD TRAVEL THREAT LEVEL DEFINITIONS

LOW – Individuals and organizations are rarely affected by security or terrorism concerns, political instability or health emergencies. There are areas which have a low rate of personal safety and security risk and pose no significant threats.

HIGH– – Regular incidents such as civil unrest, political instability, armed robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, terrorism/ extremist activity and health emergencies can occur frequently. There is a high level of risk which could physically impact individuals and organizations. EXTREME – An extremely high frequency and history of rampant violent crime ranging from civil unrest, political instability, health emergencies, terrorism/extremist activity, widespread armed conflict, or a natural disaster. It is considered to be an extremely dangerous security situation and a very high threat to personal safety and security.
